Purpose Meets Play

St Louis, MO

When a California utility company needed executive conference tables, StudioCraft developed custom modular solutions tailored to their spaces. Designed to look sophisticated without feeling over-the-top, the tables are an example of how thoughtful craftsmanship can create impact while remaining conscious of public funding.

For St. Louis Children’s Hospital, StudioCraft partnered with Cannon Design to create custom nurse stations that balance clean, contemporary design with elements of playfulness.

A defining feature of the stations is an illustrated line motif that flows across the surfaces. This design element is carried throughout the hospital, inviting children to trace its path as they move through the space.

To achieve the designers’ vision, our team worked through a careful sampling process, color-matching epoxy resin and using solid surface countertops for a seamless finish. The combination of simple forms, thoughtful material selection, and playful details creates an environment that feels welcoming and engaging for patients of all ages.

By collaborating closely with architects and experience designers from the earliest stages, StudioCraft transforms creative concepts into real-life solutions that support caregivers while creating meaningful experiences for patients and families.

Challenge:
Build functional nurse stations that feel clean, contemporary, and playful.

Opportunity:
Use the nurse stations as an extension of the hospital’s design aesthetic to create engaging moments for patients and families.

Solution:
Close collaboration with the design team to bring their illustrated line motif to life through custom fabrication.
